Hello

I am Ande, or more formally Andrea Hoffman, a sports journalist and multimedia storyteller driven by the belief that the most powerful stories aren’t just about wins and losses, but about the people behind them.

My Vision

As a student-athlete and reporter, I bring an insider’s perspective to every story I tell. Competing in collegiate athletics has shaped how I see sports: as spaces of discipline, pressure, growth, and connection. That lived experience fuels my approach to storytelling, one rooted in empathy, authenticity, and respect for the voices I amplify.

My work spans video, broadcast-style reporting, and written storytelling, with a particular passion for sideline reporting and athlete-centered narratives. Whether I’m on camera, behind the lens, or writing a script, my goal is always the same: to help audiences feel something real. I strive to create stories that inform, connect, and humanize, stories that go beyond the scoreboard and highlight the moments that matter most.

From the Beginning...

My story starts from a very young age, being on the sidelines with my dad while he coached college football. Instantly, I fell in love with all things sports, from the energy on the sidelines during a tough game to the camaraderie among players as they step on the field for the last time of their careers. There are so many stories to be told in sports. When I started my swimming career, I got to witness this first hand which made my love for sports stories grow stronger. Being on the sidelines and in the pool, I have learned some of life's most important lessons in hard work, trust, loyalty, friendship, and authenticity. From a young age, I always found there to be a lack of resources for everyday athlete to tell their story. This passion pushed me to find ways for everyday athletes like myself and coaches like my dad to be able to show how athletics shape our lives every day.

...To Now

Every athlete and coach has their own unique story to be told so my goal is to provide a way for them to share these stories with the world. Whether this be during sideline reporting or pre/post-game interviews with coaches, or players' unique testimonies, I love to be in the action! In the spring of 2025, I was awarded the Pulse Media Student of the Year award by the University of Findlay Department of Media and Communication.  No matter where, when, or how, I want to be involved in telling coaches and athletes stories to the world!
